Like I said with the review for the first book, this series dragged out。 I understand what Maya Hughes was trying to accomplish but, I don't know, this one felt just as stuffed with filler storylines and details as the first book and so it took some of the enjoyment out of it。 I liked the idea of Bay and Dare reconnecting and finding their way back, but overall I don't know if I love how it was executed。 Still liked Bay, Dare was a bit of a stage five clinger, but I don't know I still felt compe Like I said with the review for the first book, this series dragged out。 I understand what Maya Hughes was trying to accomplish but, I don't know, this one felt just as stuffed with filler storylines and details as the first book and so it took some of the enjoyment out of it。 I liked the idea of Bay and Dare reconnecting and finding their way back, but overall I don't know if I love how it was executed。 Still liked Bay, Dare was a bit of a stage five clinger, but I don't know I still felt compelled to finish it? And then we get another cliffy and so OBVIOUSLY I moved on to book 3。 At this point I had invested enough time in the series I needed to know the resolution but honestly, it didn't need to come to this。 Long story short, if you read book one, I know you'll feel the need to read this one and I understand。 Just be ready to invest another few hours once you finish to read the final book。 。。。more

Bay sucksThe first book started off making me want to read the second book but the second book has me wondering if I should continue on to the third book。 The big turn off was the main female character, Bay。 She has no empathy for poor Dare and his long history of being abused and starved by his dad along with the fact that his mom died in childbirth。 I'm guessing that in book three, they will live happily ever after but I don't see how the author will write this into some kind of believable exi Bay sucksThe first book started off making me want to read the second book but the second book has me wondering if I should continue on to the third book。 The big turn off was the main female character, Bay。 She has no empathy for poor Dare and his long history of being abused and starved by his dad along with the fact that his mom died in childbirth。 I'm guessing that in book three, they will live happily ever after but I don't see how the author will write this into some kind of believable existence, especially, since learning that in book three, they've been apart for 6 more years (they've only been together for a 3 or 4 months, total!)。 I'm hoping Dare, will find someone else that truly loves him, with understanding and care and not use him to get over their fears, a la Bay style, then just walk away。 Fat chance, I know but a girl could keep wishing。 I read another review that said she was glad Bay had gotten everything she wanted but was still unhappy, so, there's that, LOL! 。。。more

With the sequel to Bay and Dare Keyton's story comes more heartbreak, love, angst, and sexual tension。 They're reunited years later and the character growth was front-stage in this one as we see a whole new side to Bay as she sets out to achieve her dreams and ambitions while balancing a new fledgling relationship with Dare that comes with its own share of emotions and life-changing decisions。 Maya balanced their sinfully hot kisses with slow yet steady character and relationship growth before s With the sequel to Bay and Dare Keyton's story comes more heartbreak, love, angst, and sexual tension。 They're reunited years later and the character growth was front-stage in this one as we see a whole new side to Bay as she sets out to achieve her dreams and ambitions while balancing a new fledgling relationship with Dare that comes with its own share of emotions and life-changing decisions。 Maya balanced their sinfully hot kisses with slow yet steady character and relationship growth before shattering our hearts at the very end, again! 。。。more

Alrighty so this book takes place four years after book 1 The Art of Falling For You and it's worth reading in order but probably not 100% necessary。 Both characters have graduated college, and our heroine is working a summer job at her university where the LA Lions have their training camp。 Our hero just got drafted to the LA Lions and is trying to make a name for himself while dealing with the aftermath of years of abuse from his father。 Both characters are there for six weeks, and this book i Alrighty so this book takes place four years after book 1 The Art of Falling For You and it's worth reading in order but probably not 100% necessary。 Both characters have graduated college, and our heroine is working a summer job at her university where the LA Lions have their training camp。 Our hero just got drafted to the LA Lions and is trying to make a name for himself while dealing with the aftermath of years of abuse from his father。 Both characters are there for six weeks, and this book is the snapshot of that time。 (Book 3 takes place six years after this one。)I thought everything about this book was better than book 1。 The writing was smoother, the characters more mature, the plotting more complex。 There are NO FLASHBACKS!One of my favorite things about this series is that the tension between the hero and heroine doesn't rely on miscommunication or assumptions。 The conflicts between our hero and heroine are genuine and based on what the characters actually want, who they are during this span of their relationship, and what they've dealt with in the past。 It's complicated, and gritty, and felt very honest。 。。。more

Book-Challenge 2021: Book 26Wow, this was amazing! A very good continuation of Dare/Keyton and Bay‘s story。 They seemed to make the same mistakes they made in the previous books, but (at least Bay) seemed to realize that this couldn’t work in such a way。I‘m rooting for them, I so do。 And I’m happy I can continue with the final book of the trilogy。 Another awesome read。 Love their story。

I am so mad。 Very mad。I am so mad that I don't even know if I hate it yet but I think it only deserves 3-stars frome me。This is a second-chance romance and it didn't take long for that to happen however it's so frustrating。 Dare finally got the chance to be pro-athlete in was put in training camp for 4 weeks。 there he meets the love of his life, Bay, from high school。 The girl he broke and hurt。Bay still has issues with Dare and couldn't even give him a chance but since they only had 4 weeks, th I am so mad。 Very mad。I am so mad that I don't even know if I hate it yet but I think it only deserves 3-stars frome me。This is a second-chance romance and it didn't take long for that to happen however it's so frustrating。 Dare finally got the chance to be pro-athlete in was put in training camp for 4 weeks。 there he meets the love of his life, Bay, from high school。 The girl he broke and hurt。Bay still has issues with Dare and couldn't even give him a chance but since they only had 4 weeks, the story progressed as it must! I disliked Bya's character here because she was just leaning on Dare so she can reach her own dreams that didn't happen because some factors - Dare being one of the top factors。I hurt for Dare Keyton。 This loyal man。 He never once looked, kissed, or fucked someone since Bay。 And this is because he was so repentant over what between them and that he believes he will one day be able to revive what once was between him and Bay。He supported her so much in this book and bay somewhat gave that support back。 It still wasn't enough for me because she kept driving back to that memory from 4 years ago where he broke her heart。 She kept doubting his anger management skills and that if he's a changed man。Keyton's character and pain were executed well, you get to understand what was going through him。 I hated how Bay's POV of it though。 She made him sound irredeemable。 He was trying hard。 He had his past, he acknowledges it but doesn't want therapy。 If Bay only gave him some effort and support。。。 He only wanted 2 things: a)Bay and b)for Bay to succeed。 SPOILER AHEAD:(view spoiler)[BUT NO! SHE。 FUCKING。 LEFT。 HIM。 ANYWAY!!! fuck。 (hide spoiler)] "Don't get so caught up in making her dreams come true that you forget about your own。" -Know to Keyton EXACTLY MY FUCKING THOUGHTS, KNOX!!!! 。。。more

Dare & BayDon't even know what to say。 Bay was right in her feelings in high school when Dare flipped out and destroyed her dads guitar but fast forward four years later。 They meet up again at school where he is attending football camp and she is filling in as RA。 She starts out not wanting anything to do with him and then she sleeps with him and kicks him to the curb afterwards。 Then she needs him as a security blanket so she can sing in front of other people。 The ending had me so pissed off I Dare & BayDon't even know what to say。 Bay was right in her feelings in high school when Dare flipped out and destroyed her dads guitar but fast forward four years later。 They meet up again at school where he is attending football camp and she is filling in as RA。 She starts out not wanting anything to do with him and then she sleeps with him and kicks him to the curb afterwards。 Then she needs him as a security blanket so she can sing in front of other people。 The ending had me so pissed off I got a headache。 。。。more

I usually like second chances novels, but this got boring really quick。 The first 1/3 was fine, a nice continuation to the previous book, but then I lost interest。 There was just not enough material to power the story。and I do not for the life of me think there is enough going on to justify a third installment。 like HOWthe ending to this book is just completely custom-made to squeeze in another sequel and it was hella infuriating。I did enjoy the first third of the book, though, so that saves thi I usually like second chances novels, but this got boring really quick。 The first 1/3 was fine, a nice continuation to the previous book, but then I lost interest。 There was just not enough material to power the story。and I do not for the life of me think there is enough going on to justify a third installment。 like HOWthe ending to this book is just completely custom-made to squeeze in another sequel and it was hella infuriating。I did enjoy the first third of the book, though, so that saves this from joining my 1-star shelf。 。。。more

Omg my heartThis book played with my emotions, like I now have an emotional attachment to Dare it’s not even funny。 Maya did such a good job on dealing with Dare’s trauma and his own anger issues like it was so sad reading about how he felt so undeserving of love。 I loved the progression of their relationship and seeing Bay become more confident even though she was still that nervous teenager at heart。 I wanted so badly for Dare to put himself first because he was so invested in Bay’s future and Omg my heartThis book played with my emotions, like I now have an emotional attachment to Dare it’s not even funny。 Maya did such a good job on dealing with Dare’s trauma and his own anger issues like it was so sad reading about how he felt so undeserving of love。 I loved the progression of their relationship and seeing Bay become more confident even though she was still that nervous teenager at heart。 I wanted so badly for Dare to put himself first because he was so invested in Bay’s future and dreams that he was risking his own。 I wish that he got closure from his Dad but hopefully that will be in the last book。 So many emotional moments and cute moments that really show how they’re destined to be together and how much they love each other。 It was nice seeing them in this setting but I still think that the first book was slightly better mostly because I feel like there wasn’t much development in their actual relationship, it felt the exact same way it did in the first book and I would have loved if they learned to communicate better with each other。 Overall a great wholesome read with tension and some angst definitely recommend 。。。more

Good continuation of the story… but leaves so much unanswered。 Thank goodness the 3rd book is out! I would be cursing right now if it wasn’t。 This one was pretty uneventful, for the most part。 It was mostly a transitional book to reconnect the main characters and show what they had been up to since they were last together。 It was great that Knox showed up, Dare desperately needed someone in his corner。 It’s obvious that they care about each other but Dare needs to let go of feeling that he doesn Good continuation of the story… but leaves so much unanswered。 Thank goodness the 3rd book is out! Not fair to DareI love all of Maya’s FU books and characters。 I love these characters, but I don’t understand how Dare’s character played out。 There was a lot of things that shouldn’t have hurt him。 His reputation isn’t bad and he is a great football player。 What happens in the end didn’t sit right with me。 I love the story line and characters but there are things I disagree with that took place in Dare’s life。 Consequences that if everything was explained wouldn’t have been so, not in real life Not fair to DareI love all of Maya’s FU books and characters。 I love these characters, but I don’t understand how Dare’s character played out。 There was a lot of things that shouldn’t have hurt him。 His reputation isn’t bad and he is a great football player。 What happens in the end didn’t sit right with me。 I love the story line and characters but there are things I disagree with that took place in Dare’s life。 Consequences that if everything was explained wouldn’t have been so, not in real life and it should have been in the book。 End was not as good as the other books。 There was no Justification。 。。。more
